Please email through to enquire about your specific event. 
We usually play from 9pm-12am, however we can be flexible. Those wedding speeches can get pretty lengthy!
Please be aware that starting later doesn't mean we can finish later - not only can this be a pain for the venue, but we also all work full time, and are often busy with other commintments  and gigs in the weekend. We will always be ready to play by the runsheet time, and we don't mind waiting longer to play, but it's still our time being taken up - we appreciate your understanding with this one.
We are a four piece band, so we can fit comfortably into around 2.5x4 metres. We need to have a hard, flat floor to set up on, and we also need to have our instruments covered in case of rain/sun damage etc. 

DO YOU PLAY OUTSIDE OF HAWKES BAY?

HOW FAR OUT SHOULD I TRY AND BOOK?

Not normally, seeing as we all work during the day and most of us have families - however sometimes we do provided the customer covers our travel, food and accomodation along with the fee. 
Corporate function dates usually book 6-12 months earlier, while weddings are booked 12-18 months - however, it never hurts to enquire if your event is soon! We operate on a 'first come first served' basis.

CAN YOU PLAY OUR FIRST DANCE?

We are very happy to play something from our repertoire for a first dance or even learn something new (provided we have time), however you're also welcome to plug an ipod or phone into our PA if you wish.

If you enquire as to whether or not a date is free via email or FB, we'll let you know (email is preferable). However, we will only confirm your booking if you ask us specifically to confirm, and even then even a few hours can make a difference as we can get up to three enquiries a day during the usual booking period and we operate on a 'first come first served' basis.
We're happy to pencil a date in for you and let you know if someone else enquires - but if you havent responded in 24 hours we will confirm with the other person.
This can be problematic for a number of reasons - the biggest being that it can be difficult to operate unless you know what you're doing, and we don't arrive until 30 mins before we're scheduled to play.  Another is that, ordinarily, speeches take place close to the bridal table which is usually the furthest position from where we've set up. We strongly recommend that you hire a small easy-to-operate PA specifically for this purpose, there are some great places around here that lend them!

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I PROVIDE FOR THE BAND?

Apart from our fee paid either on the night or before, hard covered ground to set up on  and relative protection from drunk people who want to sing or play our instruments, not much!
Most important is good communication, we try to reply as quickly as possible and expect the same from customers. We don't require food unless we've had to travel outside the region. 

DO YOU PLAY OUTSIDE?

We are happy to play at your outdoor function - however there absolutely must be adequate cover and a hard floor/stage
for our instruments both during setup/ packdown and  during the perfomance.
Stolen Records reserves the right to refuse to play if the stage area doesn't meet these requirements, so please make sure this aspect is taken into consideration when booking your marquee or outdoor shelter.
Please make sure you tell us in your
initial enquiry if you intend for us to play outdoors.  

WHAT HAPPENS IF A GUEST BREAKS SOME OF THE BAND EQUIPMENT?

Stolen Records uses extremely high quality performance gear and instruments to make sure we can deliver the best possible product. In the unlikely case of our gear breaking  down during the performance due to wear and tear we would cover the expense our selves, however if a guest to your function was to cause the breakage, the individual who make the booking would be fully liable to to cover the cost of replacement/repair.​ 
Thankfully, the chances of this happening are very rare and we take safety very seriously, marking our equipment and stands with coloured tape so it can be seen in dim light. 
All of our electrical cables and equipment are official tagged, keeping in line with NZ's electrical safety regulations (2010).
